We've changed the name of our group to the Eastern Ohio Concerned Citizens. The new name better describes the people who have worked so hard on the TEA Parties. Saturday, October 10th a group of Concerned Citizens held another TEA Party in Cadiz, Ohio at the Harrison County Courthouse from 12-2:00 pm. Approximately 250 people turned out despite the chilly temperatures. After the opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and Nation Anthem, Glen Meakem commented on the direction of the Country and about our need to hold our elected officials accountable. Dr. John Holman discussed the myth that physicians are in favor of the government option. Mike Jamison talked about the Cap and Trade legislation that would cripple our county and the Country. Jeanette Moll spoke about our 1st Amendment Rights and how we must fight to preserve them. Jeff Roson talked about his experience as a Marine in other countries that didn't have a 2nd Amendment to protect the citizens from their government. Rachel Layton, the winner of the essay contest, read her essay. Glen and Rachel enacted a tax demonstration with the $100 prize to show how much we pay in taxes and that it doesn't end once we receive our net pay. Sue Elias lead us in prayer. Music was provided by Roger Logsdon and also Diana Bowling and Melanie Reynolds of Uncompromise.
